Charrette #2 was held at Curie High School on July 17th bringing together Curie High School students with ACE Mentorship Program summer program students. ACE students were able to bring their design skills and knowledge to the table and work with Curie students to develop five great concept plans for the Curie courtyard.
The charrette kicked off with an insightful presentation from Lynn Hollenberg who was the chair of the 2009 Legacy Project. Students were given the chance to see how previous site challenges were overcome and encouraged to think more creatively when it comes to problem solving in their designs.
Each team was charged with refining the previously developed concept plans while also considering design challenges such as installation limitations, construction costs, long-term maintenance, and remaining flexible since donations are not confirmed until after the Expo.
